2024 PLAYOFF FORMAT

With the addition of a ninth team in 2024, the IBL playoffs will still feature the top 8 teams.

Quarter-Finals: Best-of-Five
Semi-Finals: Best-of-Five
Finals: Best-of-Seven

QUARTER-FINALS

Series “A” – 1st vs. 8th
Series “B” – 2nd vs. 7th
Series “C” – 3rd vs. 6th
Series "D" – 4th vs. 5th

SEMI-FINALS

Series “E” – 1st seed vs. 4th seed
Series “F” – 2nd seed vs. 3rd seed

CHAMPIONSHIP SERIES for the Jack and Lynne Dominico Cup

Series “G” – winners of Series “E” and “F”

TIES IN FINAL STANDING – TIE BREAKING SYSTEM

FIRST PLACE - Where two teams are tied for first place, the team winning the division title will be decided by a sudden death game or games if more than two teams are tied.    

The site for the sudden death game will be decided by comparing won and lost records against each other or if necessary, comparing runs for and against between the teams involved.  If a tie still exists then a coin toss will establish home field.

TIES FOR OTHER POSITIONS - If two teams are tied, the team with the best record in head-to-head competition shall be declared higher in the standing.
