Maple Leafs Re-Sign Outfielder Carrington
TORONTO – The Toronto Maple Leafs Baseball Club (@iblmapleleafs) announced today the re-signing of outfielder Greg Carrington.
The Scarborough native enters his fifth IBL season. After spending the 2021 season with the Roswell Invaders of the Peco’s League, Greg returned for the 2022 season and smashed career highs in all categories. Last season Greg hit .304 (41-135) with 9 doubles, 2 triples, 3 home runs, and 22 RBI.
“Greg is a huge asset to the ballclub. He can play all outfield positions and is growing into some power the older he gets and he still runs well" said Maple Leafs General Manager, Jeff Lounsbury. "He is also working around baseball all day at NRS ( National Recruiters of Sport) thus he’s working on his game all year. He loves the game, and it shows in the clubhouse, on the bench, and in the field."
The Toronto Maple Leafs are a member of Canada’s best league, the Intercounty Baseball League. The over 100-year-old summer league is one of the oldest baseball leagues in the world, with the league established in 1919, drawing significantly more fans, in a friendly ballpark experience, than any league of its kind.
