Majors sign former OCAA Pitcher of the Year

LONDON - The London Majors are pleased to announce the signing of left-handed pitcher Cam O’Reilly.

Originally from Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan, Cam joins the Majors after a season with the Moose Jaw Miller Express of the Western Canadian Baseball League where he pitched 23.1 innings while recording 24 strikeouts. Prior to his return to Moose Jaw, O’Reilly spent time with the St. Clair Saints of the OCAA in 2021 where he was named OCAA Pitcher of the Year and an All-Star in the same season. That season saw the lefty finish the season with an ERA of 0.88 and a record of 4-0.

As someone who has won a championship in Ontario with the St. Clair Saints, the 19-year-old was asked what he is excited most about joining the Majors after the team had just won back-to-back titles, “I'm most excited about continuing my career in baseball after college and being a part of a winning culture!”

Another newcomer to the Majors’ organization, Roop Chanderdat was asked about what O’Reilly brings to the team for the 2023 season “Cam is a young left-handed pitcher that will work out of the bullpen”.  He has had good success in College and summer ball and he is looking to continue his development and growth as a player with the Majors.  It's nice having a few left-handed pitchers on the staff, especially out of the bullpen.”

The London Majors are a member of Canada’s top baseball league, the Intercounty Baseball League. In 2021 the London Majors won the IBL Jack & Lynn Dominico Trophy. The 100-year-old summer league is one of the oldest baseball leagues in the world. The league was established in 1919, drawing significantly more fans, in a friendly ballpark experience, than any league of its kind.
