Majors add Janisse to Pitching Staff
LONDON - The London Majors are proud to announce the signing of Maidstone, Ontario native Skylar Janisse for the 2023 season.
Janisse, a right-handed pitcher, joins the club after pitching for the Florance Y’Alls, Lake County Dockhounds, and the Empire State Greys in the 2022 season while making one start for the IBL Kitchener Panthers. Skylar had 30 strikeouts in 28 innings over the 2022 season. The 29-year-old is a former draft pick by the New York Yankees out of high school in 2011 and will be bringing his 6’4”, 215 lbs frame to Labatt Park this season.
When asked about the newest member of the Majors pitching staff, Roop Chanderdat said, “Skylar is a great addition to our pitching staff. He has pro experience which will be a big asset, especially for our younger pitchers. Janisse is another big arm we will lean on to help us win games.”
The London Majors are a member of Canada’s top baseball league, the Intercounty Baseball League. In 2021 the London Majors won the IBL Jack & Lynn Dominico Trophy. The 104-year old summer league is one of the oldest baseball leagues in the world. The league was established in 1919, drawing significantly more fans, in a friendly ballpark experience, than any league of its kind.
