Hamilton Re-Sign Import Outfielder Brandon Nicholson
The Hamilton Cardinals are excited to welcome back dynamic outfielder Brandon Nicholson to their lineup for the 2024 season.
Originally from Orchard Park, NY, Nicholson made a midseason move to the Cardinals from the Welland Jackfish last year. In his 20-game stint with Hamilton, he quickly proved his value as a leadoff hitter, boasting a .287 batting average with 25 hits and demonstrating his prowess on the bases with 11 steals. Nicholson played both the infield and outfield for the Cardinals in 2023 but will shift back to the outfield in 2024.
Nicholson set a record in the IBL for the most stolen bases in a single season with 48 in 2022. With a total of 133 games under his belt in the IBL, he has accumulated an impressive 110 stolen bases. Prior to joining the IBL, Nicholson was a standout at Canisius College in Buffalo, NY.
“Nicholson came in as a stranger to the org who sacrificed his primary position to help us win,” said George Halim, Hamilton Cardinals General Manager. “His character and attitude towards winning is contagious, and now he’ll be settled into his natural position so he can be himself on the diamond.”
