Hamilton Cardinals Announce New Owners Partnership
HAMILTON – Just after completing a successful playoff run in the IBL, the Hamilton Cardinals are set to begin building for the 2023 Season immediately.
The Hamilton Cardinals have restructured ownership under a new entity Hamilton Cardinals Baseball Club Inc. The entity is comprised of new Managing Partner, Eric Spearin and Partners PJ and Joe Mercanti of Carmen’s Inc. Peter Mercanti, founder of Mama Yolanda’s Lasagna and Dennis Concordia founder of POWERGROUP Resources.
“We are delighted to bring Eric and his passion for baseball and Hamilton to the partnership,” says Dennis Concordia.
“We are excited to take this next step to building a sustainable plan for the Hamilton Cardinals” says PJ Mercanti.
Spearin will become Managing Partner of Hamilton Cardinals Baseball Club after outlining a new vision to existing leaders Mercanti and Concordia.
“Both the IBL and the Cardinals have a long history and it’s an honour to join the ownership group. I look forward to applying my marketing and business expertise as we redefine what the Cardinals can be in our community” said Spearin

Jointly, we are working on a marketing strategy around the Cardinals 65th Anniversary in 2023, which will include a rebranding of the team logo and a new gameday experience for fans of all ages.
PJ and Joe Mercanti, are CEO and COO of Carmens Inc., Peter Mercanti founder of Mama Yolanda’s who along with Dennis Concordia of POWERGROUP Resources were members of the Community Ownership Group managing the Cardinals. Eric Spearin is a successful Hamilton business leader and President of Transervice Integrated Services (TIS), an Inc5000 company.
