Scragg Joins Cardinals For 2021 Campaign
HAMILTON - The Hamilton Cardinals are pleased to announce the signing of infielder Port Perry, Ontario native Nathan Scragg for the 2021 season.
Nathan is currently playing at Erie Community College after spending three years learning his craft with the Toronto Mets Elite Program.
"We had planned to have Nathan join the team last summer, but we are really happy to have him for the upcoming season and hopefully for many more years to come" said Cardinals General Manager Jeff Lounsbury. "Nathan is a scrappy ballplayer, who will fit in great with our team-first mentality and hard-nosed players. He will be a tough out and play good defence. He's a drink the water from the hose kind of player and the Cards fan will enjoy watching him give his all."
"I am very honoured and excited to play with such talented players for the Hamilton Cardinals this summer. I was lucky enough to play in Montana this year through the pandemic, and look forward to playing on Canadian soil this summer" said Nathan Scragg.
The Hamilton Cardinals are a member of Canada’s top baseball league, the Intercounty Baseball League. The 100-year old summer league is one of the oldest baseball leagues in the world, with the league established in 1919, drawing significantly more fans, in a friendly ballpark experience, than any league of its kind.
