Red Sox snap 20-game losing streak

TORONTO – The streak is over.
After winning their season opener, the Brantford Red Sox lost 20 straight games. That stretch of futility came to an end Sunday afternoon at Christie Pits when the Red Sox beat the Toronto Maple Leafs 11-1.
Nic Burdett went 3-for-5 with a home run, three RBI and two runs. Gianfranco Morello went deep for the second time this year and drove in three while scoring twice, and Doug Parks singled and added a solo home run.
Jesse Fishbaum had three hits, an RBI and a run atop the lineup, Chris Iltshishin singled twice and scored, Luis Perez had two hits and two runs, Jacob Reid drove in a pair of runs on two hits and scored once, and Anthony Rizquez had an RBI.
Edison Frias (1-3) earned the win, scattering three hits over seven innings while allowing an unearned run. He walked one and struck out eight.
Ryan Johnston drove in the Leafs' lone run.
Zach Sloan (0-6) took the loss on the mound, allowing four runs on five hits in four innings. He walked two and struck out one.
Toronto dropped to 9-14.
