Panthers' pitchers limit London
LONDON – Three Kitchener pitchers held the London Majors to six hits in an 8-2 Panthers win Friday night at Labatt Park.
Yoen Socarras (2-0) went the first seven innings, giving up two runs on four hits with a walk and eight strikeouts. Brady Schnarr and Matt Vickers finished the game with a scoreless inning apiece.
Tanner Nivins went 2-for-4 with a solo home run, and Zach Johnson added a two-run blast and a sacrifice fly. Mike Gordner singled, doubled and scored three times, Brian Burton had two hits and a run, Andy Leader drove in a run on two hits and scored once, and Liam Wilson had an RBI.
The first-place Panthers moved to 19-6.
Carlos Arteaga had London's lone RBI. Myles Miller singled, doubled and scored.
Migel Burgos (4-4) suffered the loss, giving up five runs on eight hits with three walks and six strikeouts.
London (13-15) dropped its third straight.
