Marcus shines in Barnstormers’ win

TORONTO – Chatham-Kent leadoff hitter Spencer Marcus went 3-for-4 with a home run and two RBI in a 7-2 win Sunday in Toronto.

Jalen Butcher went 3-for-4 with two RBI, Lee Kucera had three hits and an RBI, Spencer Morin went 2-for-5 with an RBI and Trent Sillett drove in a run.

Brock Whitson went seven scoreless, one-hit innings for the win. He walked two and struck out two.

Mike Cecchetto and Dan Marra each drove in a run for the Leafs.

Sam Greene took the loss, giving up five runs on seven hits over five innings. He walked four and fanned five.

The Barnstormers improved to 13-16, and Toronto fell to 9-21.
