Maple Leafs appoint Richardson as General Manager

TORONTO - The Toronto Maple Leafs Baseball Club (@mapleleafsbaseball) have appointed Dustin Richardson as General Manager of the Club, focusing on Baseball Operations for the upcoming 2025 season.

Richardson, currently a player-coach within the organization, will remain in his role as an active member of the Maple Leafs’ pitching staff while also performing various duties of GM. This is a natural progression for Dustin as he’s well respected across the organization, and as GM, he will be able to work closely with the coaching staff and players throughout the season.

“We’re thrilled to bring Dustin into the fold on the player-management side. he’s had such a positive impact on this organization ever since joining the team and is thoroughly invested in creating the best possible team on the field. He’s got a baseball mind and loves being here, which we believe will translate well in this role,” said the club.

“I’m excited for the opportunity to lead such a storied organization,” said Dustin Richardson. “The future of this team is bright, and I’m committed to working alongside our coaching staff, front office, and ownership to build a sustainable winner. We will focus on the long-term vision while also being competitive today.”

The club has had a busy offseason thus far amidst the signing of several new players and is excited with the changes made so far. Numerous signings will be announced throughout April, leading up to our home opener on May 11th. Toronto's interim GM will move into an assistant role to support Dustin and will continue to focus on signings and the baseball administrative side of the GM duties, allowing Dustin to focus on player recruitment and on-field activities.
