Majors Add Another Power Bat To The Lineup
LONDON - The London Majors are pleased to announce the signing of 1st baseman Julian Johnson. A member of the roster that participated in the 2020 Legacy Classic, Johnson joins the Majors after playing in 2019 for the Sakai Shrikes of the Professional Baseball Sawakami Kansai Independent League in Japan.
In Japan, Johnson hit for an average of .389 while scoring 13 runs and adding 17 RBI. The Mississauga resident is no stranger to the IBL, suiting up for the Burlington Bandits and Toronto Maple Leafs between 2016 and 2018.
After playing under Roop Chanderdat in the Legacy Classic in 2020 Johnson had this to say about Chanderdat “Playing for coach Roop is a blessing! It’s rare that you find a coach to let you play your own game. One of the best/most respected coaches in the game today”
Majors general manager, co-owner and manager Roop Chanderdat didn’t shy away when asked about what Johnson brings to the roster “I’m really looking forward to having Julian on our team for the 2021 Season, He will give us another big bat in the line-up and will help provide leadership for our team”.
