Jackfish re-sign two ahead of 2021 Season

WELLAND – The Welland Jackfish, announced today the re-signing of catcher’s Andrew Mercier and Greg Marco for the 2021 season.

Mercier, a 5-10 London, Ontario native, rejoins the Jackfish following a successful 2019 campaign that saw the veteran leading the Jackfish in RBIs with 22. This will be his fourth IBL season in 2021.

Marco, a 5-10 Waterdown, Ontario native, rejoins the Fish for his fourth IBL season. In 2019, Marco recorded one double, four RBI and two stolen bases over twenty games played. Marco spent his college playing career at North West Oklahoma.

The Welland Jackfish are a member of Canada’s best league, the Intercounty Baseball League. The over 100-year old summer league is one of the oldest baseball leagues in the world, with the league established in 1919, drawing significantly more fans, in a friendly ballpark experience, than any league of its kind.
