HRD Players of the Week - Week 1 & 2

The Intercounty Baseball League (IBL) announced its HRD Bat Co Players of the Week for the first two weeks of the season.

May 13 - May 19

Aidan Ryan of the Chatham-Kent Barnstormers was named Pitcher of the Week in the opening week of the IBL 2024 season. Ryan, who is a native of Tecumseh, Ontario led the Barnstormers to their inaugural victory by pitching 5 scoreless innings against the Kitchener Panthers, striking out 5 and not allowing a single walk.

Veteran Josh Garton was named the Batter of the Week for his performance in the first two games of the season where he was 4 for 6 with 3 HRs and 8 RBIs. 

May 20 - May 26

Pitcher of the Week is awarded to Welland Jackfish starting pitcher Ben Abram for his complete game shutout against the Toronto Maple Leafs on May 25th. Abram only allowed 4 hits while striking out 11 Leafs as he cruised to his second win of the season.

Gus Wilson of the Brantford Red Sox was awarded the Batter of the Week. Wilson collected 5 hits over the weekend, including 1 HR and a double. For the season, Wilson is batting .467.
