Baycats snap Jackfish streak

WELLAND – Barrie snapped Welland’s win streak at five and inched closer to the Jackfish atop the IBL standings with a 6-5 road win on Saturday.

Canice Ejoh went 3-for-5 with two doubles, three RBI and two runs for Barrie (15-8), which trails Welland by four games. Brandon Hernandez had three hits and drove in two, and Noel McGarry-Doyle, Adam Odd and Tyler Plumpton all had two hits apiece.

Cesar Rosado (5-1) struck out nine over five innings for the win. He gave up a run on one hit with four walks. Carlos Sano earned his third save.

Greyson Barrett led Welland (20-5) with two home runs and four RBI. Jonah Weisner drove in the other run.

Enrique Saldana (4-1) took the loss. He gave up four runs (one earned) on seven hits in 3.2 innings.
