Baker Steps Down As Field Manager
KITCHENER - Luke Baker will not be returning as the Kitchener Panthers Field Manager in 2020.
After 2 successful Seasons, in which Luke Baker guided the Panthers to the IBL Finals, losing in both 2018 and 2019 to the Barrie Baycats, in hard fought 6 Game Series, Luke has recently informed the Panthers that he will not be returning for a 3rd year. Luke has a young family and has decided to focus more time with his family as well as a new career.
In 2019 Luke was selected as the IBL 2nd Team All Star Manager.
Mike Boehmer, the Panthers GM, comments, “ We appreciate the good job Luke has done as our Field Manager the past 2 Seasons, and wish him all the best in the future. Luke brought a great deal of energy and passion to the position, and we will miss his enthusiasm, as well as his strong commitment to The Panthers”.
In addition to being the Panthers Field Manager the past 2 years, Luke Baker was a excellent ballplayer, playing for the Panthers from 2000 to 2017, winning the IBL MVP Award in 2002, and holds the record for the most hits in a 36 Game Schedule.
The Panthers will immediately begin a search for a new Field Manager.
